The Treatment

What We Treat ?

Back pain

Pain in the upper back (Thoracic), lower back(Lumbar) and tailbone (Sacrum/Coccyx) are very common and can easily affect your quality of life making normal daily tasks, like sitting, standing, and bending difficult.It is estimated that 70-90% of people will experience back pain at some point in their lives. The back is comprised of many sensitive structures that play a pivotal role on the way we move. These include bones (vertebra and ribs), muscles, spinal discs, ligaments, tendons, nerves and other connective tissue like fascia. Back pain can be associated with injury or inflammation with any of these structures.

We specialise in assessing and accurately diagnosing the cause of your back pain. There may be many factors that contribute to your symptoms and our experienced practitioners will help identify and address these issues. Treatment at our clinic will involve fixing the underlying cause of your back pain.

Neck pain

One of the most common problems we see in our clinic is neck pain.The neck is a very complex part of the body and is made up of many delicate and pain sensitive structures like muscles, joints, nerves, discs, ligaments and tendons.Your neck has to work pretty hard when you consider your head weighs around 5Kgs.

Headache & Migraine

Headaches and migraine can leave you feeling helpless. But often there are things we can do to help improve or prevent the pain of a headache without the use of heavy medication.Regular stretching, exercise and hands-on treatment may bring so much relief you would wonder why you never tried these simple ideas before.

Sports Injuries

Injuries sustained while playing sport can vary from mild sprain/strain type injuries to more severe tears/instabilities and fractures.Our practitioners are highly skilled at assessing, diagnosing and treating all types of sports injuries. According to Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) 1 in 17 Australians suffer from injuries sustained during sports. The most common sports injuries are soft tissue injuries. These involve structures like muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and nerves. These are commonly injured via a strain, sprain or direct blow

Posture & Ergonomics

Most of us spend many hours a day sitting. Some research suggests we spend half our day sitting , and that it can affect your ability to perform normal tasks like, standing, walking, running and jumping . Sitting for long periods of time in the wrong position and poor posture can even cause;

  1. Pressure on the disc between the bones of your spine
  2. Reduced function and mobility of your spine
  3. Increase inflammation leading to pain
  4. Slows the body’s processing of fat
  5. Leg and buttock muscles weaken

We use a wide range of techniques in order to help alleviate the pain you may have from increased sitting and poor posture.

Stress & Fatigue

Stress can come in many forms and affect the body in many ways. People typically associate stress with negative situations like running late a meeting, family problems, losing a job etc.But stress can also occur when we do not get enough sleep, overtrain, work too hard or have bad posture.Stress causes all sorts of changes to the body including;

  1. Tension in your muscles and joints
  2. Clenching jaw
  3. The release of “stress hormones” like epinephrine and cortisol
  4. Increase in blood pressure
  5. Increase in breathing rate
  6. Heartburn, stomach cramps, poor digestion

We can help with the muscle and joint problems associated with stress and fatigue. Using hands on techniques to help reduce your muscle tightness and joint stiffness we can help your body come better with stress and even help you sleep better.
